In early 2008 I went out on my own as a freelance marketer. It was also at that time that I started an etsy shop. Etsy is an online marketplace made up of hundreds of thousands of individual businesses (sellers). Each shop on the site has to market itself to stand out. There's many tactics and ways to make your shop more successful. When I first joined Etsy I submerged myself in learning the culture and the lay of the land. Combined with my marketing back ground offering helpful hints and critiques to fellow shop owners became second nature.
My shop is not one of the top selling shops by any means, BUT and this is a BIG but, due to my current situation and career choices I am very happy with how much business I receive and how much exposure I get. I am featured quite often on the home page, I have been included in some articles, and other shop owners and bloggers include me in their postings or showcases regularly.
The critiques I offer for etsy shops cover all of the facets of having a shop - using the site to its full potential, imagery, customer touch, content, pricing, shipping, product lines and more.
Because of my marketing background my critiques don't start and end with etsy shops. I have critiqued facebook pages, and websites, and when I do either of these I need to include the whole picture. Each critique I do includes an online analysis and competitive analysis and each one is specific to each client and what they identify they are trying to get from the critique after we've spoken. Each critique client is provided a score sheet that I have developed to help identify areas that need improvement, as well as an evaluation form that will outline suggestions. I also offer custom critiques that can include a more detailed and specific plan that will be ready to implement. Please contact me to request a custom proposal.
Whether you have an online shop or not, anything that you are presenting online sends a message. Your website, facebook, shops (etsy, ebay etc), flickr, linked in, twitter, etc etc etc all send a message. What are yours saying?
